About Us

Infant Jesus Lumen Christi School was established by Mrs. Rebecca Famiyeh with the help of her husband Dr. J. A. Famiyeh and two daughters – Mrs. Josephine Famiyeh Sarpong and Mrs. Stephanie Famiyeh Addo in June 1992.

Mrs. Rebecca Famiyeh worked with the Ghana Education Service for Twenty – two (22) years, and also worked with some schools in Bradford UK for five (5) years, before establishing the school at Ayeduase and Twumduase in Kumasi.

The school was accredited by GES with the name Infant Jesus. The school was later registered with the Registrar General of Companies as Infant Jesus Lumen Christi School.

Lumen Christi is a Latin word that means “Light of Christ.” The name of the school was not just picked by the founder – Mrs. Rebecca Famiyeh but was given to her in a dream and it lives to fulfill a mission.

The philosophy of the founder is, Education without God is meaningless unless it’s backed by the practical aspect of Christianity. This is the pivot of the training of the training of the children at Infant Jesus Lumen Christi School, to give the right human resource needed for the country’s development and worldwide.
